Introducing Feedburner
This topic is an introduction to a proven service that most of us know nothing about it and will simplify the usage of our own published RSS Feeds. So, FeedBurner is not a feed reader, rather than a management tool for our published feeds.
What is FeedBurner?
FeedBurner is a web 2.0 feed management website published as one of the most growing and proven success service, where you can add, control and manage your website feeds, whether you are a forum administrator, blogger or a podcaster.
FeedBurner was bought by GOOGLE for $100 million on 3rd of June, 2007.
What does FeedBurner give me?
Actually the great thing about FeedBurner is the ability to know how much subscribers are subscribed to your feeds, and to know which is the hottest topic on your website/forum/blog through statistics provided be the service about the most read topic on your website.
One more thing to mention, is that the service give you the ability to directly add your feed to any feed reader directly through the feedburner’s website or using a clever link provided by the service pointing to your feed URL indirectly to be added to your preferred feed reader.
How can I add my Feed to this service?
Just go to this URL:
http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/home
and register with your first feed link, where you will be able to create an account and add more feeds from different websites later and manage all feeds through a central account on FeedBurner’s website.
Can you give me example of famous feed readers?
